Terrarium temperature control

I have posted some photos of my pet some time ago. People with arachnophobia BEWARE!

Now I want it to have more comfort so I made a heating element (some spare resistors soldered together) to make terrarium temperature about 23-24 degrees as my red-knee spider is creature from warm climate. Also I measure humidity inside and it quickly shows when water in small tank has dried out. As far as I found, the most suitable environment is 23 degrees and about 50% humidity (that’s what the pictures show).

After I put heater inside, now my pet mostly sits around it. This makes me pleased of course, that it likes it.

All is easily accomplished with DHT11 (you can get it cheaply on ebay). So I connected it to attiny2313 uC, soldered 7Segm module to show info and plugged everything.

Small notice: I control 7Segm not directly from uC, but through SPI to HC595. Just because.

Not sure about any other features to implement. Yet it would be nice to fill tank with water automatically because terrarium dries out very quickly. Maybe I will think up something.
